Student Wellbeing

Student wellbeing stands for sound mental and physical health of children, to create this a safe and healthy learning and working environment is required.  Student welfare is the most important concept in a Finnish curriculum to upkeep the mental wellbeing and to encourage inclusion. Student welfare is the responsibility of all school stakeholders.

Physical Wellbeing

Nutritious food plays a pivotal in the physical wellbeing of students.  A balanced diet that caters to the required nutritional needs of each student.  The School canteen offers pure vegetarian well balanced menu with unlimited servings.  The purpose of having food in the canteen gives an opportunity to the students to understand the science of eating together, cooperation and self reliance.

Apart from all of this, there is an engagement of students “FIS on the Move” that brings out the agility, focus, collaboration. FIS on the move is a 20 minutes active break between the lessons, where in the students engage in various physical, cognitive activities outside the classroom. It is primarily targeting to enhance physical activities during breaks and subject lesson, being a direct link to learning objectives of the particular lesson. Every teacher is a PE teacher and all teachers are responsible for the wellbeing of the students.

Mental Wellbeing

Mental wellbeing is also very important as it is directly connected with the emotional health of the students. The school has experts to provide guidance and counselling. The homeroom teachers are their foster parents who also take care of the behavioural needs of the students and help them in their self actualisation process.

Student Wellbeing

The student wellbeing is of utmost importance when it comes to academic learning, differential learning strategies are adopted in the school to identify those who have special needs and individual learning and assessment programs are created for them. The parents are copartners in this program. Individual Education Program(IEP)

Ethical/Moral Wellbeing

Values are preferential choices, students enter the campus with their own familial values.  How ever they are groomed to adapt and adjust to the core ideas of the school through various school activities, as they are the future citizens. FIS has tied up with HEMA Foundation which is a philanthropic organisation for imbibing values and integrating values through academics.  The ultimate goal of this value integration program is to imbue an ethically and morally sound human being.

Overall Wellbeing

The School exposes the students to various educational and health workshops by experts to get the first hand experience of how things work. To enable overall wellbeing school organises educational tours when in the students get the opportunity to interact learn collectively in teams and exercise  leadership skills.
